Kick off the New Year Energized: Future of Energy Case Competition

Net Impact is kicking off 2021 by tackling the greenhouse gas emissions issue. In conjunction with Shell, Net Impact is hosting the Future of Energy Challenge: Net-Zero Emissions. This case competition and accelerator program focus on early to mid-stage solutions addressing downstream Scope 3 emissions within the energy sector. Teams will have an opportunity to gain mentorship from industry experts and a chance to win $10,000 that can help take their solution to the next level

What are Scope 3 Emissions, and why are they important? Scope 3 Greenhouse gas emissions often refer to “consumption-based emissions.” They are far more difficult for organizations to measure but can make up the bulk of those organizations' emissions because they are not owned or directly controlled by the organization. Without accounting for these emissions, an organization's path to Net Zero will be misrepresented.
